「Keep body and soul together」
畢業一段時間了，還沒當成白領上班族，眾多親友紛紛表達關切，
甚至問你需不需要資助。但其實你已經靠網拍、或者當家教兼課，
生活不成問題。你可以跟大家說：「我沒找到正式工作，但我有
『奶油麵包』（bread and butter）！」「奶油麵包」在這裡不
是真的指麵包，而是英文裡「生計」的意思。
Bread and butter（維持生計的專業）
麵包和奶油是西方人的主食，因此用來代表「維持生計的基本功
夫」。
例：Financial management is my bread and butter. I have
done that for seventeen years. 財務管理是我維持生計的專業，
我已經從事相關工作十七年了。
Keep body and soul together（養活自己）
直譯像是「保持身體和靈魂在一起」，引申為「維持生計、養活自
己」的意思。
例：After being laid off, she doesn’t know how to keep
body and soul together. 她被裁員後不知道怎麼養活自己。
Main source of income（主要收入來源）
在沒有其他正職收入的情況下，你的其他工作收入就是main source
of income（主要收入來源）；若有正職收入了，則其就退居為
secondary source of income（次要收入來源）。
例：Although I haven’t found a formal job, I can make
money from my Internet business. That’s my main source of
income now. 雖然我還沒有找到正式工作，但我能從網路事業賺到
錢。那是我目前主要的收入來源。
